| Baptism (Infants and Children)
By Appointment 3rd Sunday
of the month.
Families seeking Baptism should be
registered members of the parish and are urged to begin preparation for this
sacrament during the pregnancy. Parents are asked to call the parish office to
make their desire known for their child's Baptism. They are asked not to make
any definite arrangements for a date prior to this call. Parents will be
interviewed by a member of the parish staff, and they will attend a meeting
regarding the sacrament. This one night Preparation Session is required.
Baptism preparation sessions are held
every six to eight weeks. Please call the rectory office for the
schedule. |
| Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (Baptism, Confirmation,
Eucharist, RCIA)
This process of initiation is
adapted to meet the needs of women and men who are not baptized or who are
baptized in another Christian church. The journey is divided into four stages:
1) Evangelization. The inquirers begin their spiritual journey by asking
questions reflecting the Gospel message with other Christians.
2) Catechumenate. The Catechumens (unbaptized) and the Candidates (baptized)
grow in faith, interact with the community, participate in liturgical rituals,
learn about Catholicism, and about sharing their faith.
3) Purification and Enlightenment. This is a time of intense spiritual
preparation during the Lenten Season in preparation for the Easter Vigil and the
Celebration of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
4) Mystagogy. The Neophytes (newly initiated) reflect upon their experience of
the Sacraments of Initiation, and deepen their participation in the
parish/church community.
There are many persons who have practiced the Catholic faith of his/her spouse
for years but have never made a formal profession of faith in the Catholic
Church. You might consider calling the church to inquire about expectations or
requirements to become a Catholic. |
| Matrimony
Registered members must contact the
Rectory Office at least 8 months in advance of the tentative wedding date. Couples

serious illness. Call the Rectory Office at least one day prior to the morning on
