Ministry Guide

At A Glance

“For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same

function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of

one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,

let us exercise them” ~ Romans 12:4-6

“The achievements of an

organization are the results

of the combined effort of

each individual.”

~ Vince Lombardi

Family in our homes protects our family and our souls. The First Saturday Fatima

Family Devotion consists of Confession, Holy Communion, the meditative

Rosary, and 15 minutes of meditations on the decades done 5 consecutive First

Scouting

Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by

combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. We believe,

through nearly a century of experience, that helping youth puts us on a path

toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. Scouting,

with programs for young men and women, helps meet these six essential needs

of the young people growing up in our society: Mentoring, Lifelong Learning,

Faith Traditions, Serving Others, Healthy Living, Building Character. Boy Scouts,

Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Tiger Scouts, and Webelos serve the Assumption

community.

lives, struggles, and spiritual walk. This includes readings from the Diary of St.

Faustina, “Divine Mercy in My Soul”, readings from Scripture, and the Catechism

midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday at 10 AM Mass are

enhanced with music by members of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra

under the direction of Robert Waddell, our organist and choirmaster. We

morning at 9:20 before Mass to warm-up and rehearse any special music of the

day.

Natural Family Planning

We teach natural family planning through the Couple to Couple League (CCL). "

The course of instruction consists of three classes, spaced about a month apart. "

We teach monthly, so there are four series per year. "Natural Family Planning

enables couples to grow in their love for each other and for God, as they use

this knowledge to plan the spacing of their children. "This knowledge not only

helps couples avoid pregnancy, if that is their desire, but also enables even

marginally fertile couples to achieve pregnancy at no cost, without resorting to

expensive and immoral fertility treatments.

Parish Ministries

Liturgical Ministry

This ministry serves the church in three ways as Sacristans, Lectors, and Extra-

Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EM). The Sacristan prepares the Church

Eucharist. Altar Servers assist the Priest at Mass. This ministry is a direct

involvement with the Mass and to serve our Lord.

Club. You do not have to be Catholic. Our mission statement is to “Do good and

have fun”. We serve the Lord by serving our families, our church, and our

community, and fellowship with each other. There are no membership fees, and

admission is free.

church inviting all to worship. USHERS: Ushers care for the assembly during the

Liturgy and are responsible for other liturgical functions. They are responsible for

coordinating the procession of the gifts, taking up the collection, organizing the

communion procession, distributing the bulletins after Mass and any other

materials to the assembly, assisting with seating when necessary, and helping in

case of a medical situation.
