CCD RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM
ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH
MISSION
Catechesis aims to
bring about in the believer an ever more mature faith in Jesus Christ, a deeper
knowledge and love of his person and message, and a firm commitment to follow
him… With God’s grace, catechesis develops initial faith, nourishes the
Christian life, and continually unfolds the mystery of Christ until the believer
willingly becomes his disciple. - National Directory
for Catechesis (USCCB)
CURRICULUM:
FAITH AND LIFE SERIES:
A Catechetical Series for Grades 1-8 by Ignatius Press
Why Faith and Life series?
Teachers, Cardinals, Bishops, and even the
Pope! People all over the world love the Faith and Life series!

Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict XVI) has
mentioned that Faith and Life is "the best catechetical series in the German
language." |

Cardinal
Christoph Schoenborn
has this to say:
“For the past two decades, Faith
and Life has proven to be an excellent series for religious instruction in
schools and family catechesis in the home. I know families who use this
faith series and bear witness to the excellent fruit it has brought forth.
To all who wish to transmit the faith to children in schools or in the home,
I recommend the Faith and Life series as a textbook of refreshing and high

Hi Father Fred!
I just wanted to send you some trailers of our videos so that you can see
the work that our Sisters do. Some of the parishioners have been helping us
by taping voices so that we can dub some of our programs in English. There´s
a few, but maybe you can watch them little by little (they´re just trailers,
they´re not that long).
From the Visible to the Invisible
The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments
and HM Television present this production on the Liturgy.

Rediscover (Deacon Corky and Mr. Fuller did voices for us in this
program)
In this Year of Faith, rediscover your faith. In these two programs, hear
testimonies from philosophers, psychologists, physicists, men consecrated to
God, young people, married couples, etc., about how they view the world
through faith, their views on the Church, and their ideas on the
relationship between faith and the most profound desire of man´s heart:
Love.

At the Gates of Zion
In this documentary, as you discover the land where Our Lord lived and
walked, discover also the difficult situation of the Christians living there
in the present moment. In 1948, the Christian population in Israel was 30%.
Now it is only 1,2%. What is the cause of this tragic descent? This
documentary contains testimonies from Christians in the Holy Land, pilgrims
to the Holy Land, and much more!

A People Set Apart
Every five minutes a Christian is killed becuase of his faith. Martyrdom
is not a mere fenomena of the past: It is happening right now throughout the
world. In Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, China, India, and other countries, numerous
Christians are giving their lives in the name of Jesus Christ. A People Set
Apart: The Persecuted Churchgives us a glimpse of this cross that our
brothers and sisters are carrying in these persecuted countries.
